Group Practice and Teaching/ Teaching as Practice (GPT/TAP) - MBSR Teacher Training for Qualified MBSR Teachers

Group Practice and Teaching/Teaching As Practice
Saki Santorelli asks: What do you do when you don’t know what to do?

Facilitated by Elaine Retholtz and Kathleen Beck-Coon and offered through the Mindfulness Teacher Training Alliance and the Global Mindfulness Collaborative.

Ten Fridays from 2:30 pm - 5:30 pm ET
January 24th 2025 - March 28, 2025,

This offering, which is required for certification as an MBSR teacher, is for qualified teachers who have taught at least two MBSR cycles. We will be going deeper into the curricular elements of MBSR as well as the Dharma underpinnings. There will be many opportunities to guide practice and facilitate didactic pieces, but more importantly, we will be exploring the real challenges that arise in each class.

For example:

• How do you hold the group?
• What happens if participants aren’t practicing?
• What if there is no or minimal participation during group inquiry?
• How can inquiry skills be deepened?

What is teaching as practice? What is the embodied practice of teaching? This is not just about what is happening in the group - but what is happening in you?

The program consists of ten sessions of 3 - 3.5 hours each, with time in between sessions where you will be meeting with your colleagues to practice and reflect together.

Registration Fee: $1,525
